Volunteer at Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic (OBCC) where we aspire to raise the healthiest generation of kids possible.

Our priority is to promote well-being in holistic terms. As a lasting community partner, we are committed to promoting quality pediatric care, family advocacy, health collaboration, community forums, and mentoring in a culturally appropriate setting.

We believe that being healthy requires more than just access to medical treatment. Our healthcare team assists families with needs related to food, fitness, emotional well-being, physical safety, and more.

We are committed to wellness and treating the generation cycle of illness. Our clinicians, community-care advocates, community-engagement team, research team, and social workers partner with families to improve children’s health in the communities served.

We listen to our communities to develop and evaluate our intervention and prevention programs that address the root causes of chronic illness, disease, behavioral and socio-emotional challenges and confront the challenges of poverty.

Why volunteer with OBCC?

Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic is positively impacting families raising children in an environment that requires more than a clinical approach. OBCC volunteers support our team in clinical and non-clinical settings. Their collaboration with our care teams providing support through clinical, social work, community engagement, and research activities allows care teams to provide the best healthcare to our patients. In brief, volunteers are an integral part of our community.

Volunteering gives you the chance to learn about emerging issues in health care and gain the soft skills and social awareness needed to function in the clinical environment. You will work with people who have different backgrounds and levels of knowledge allowing you to gain the most out of this experience. We are also able to provide a letter of evaluation for candidates to graduate or professional school programs.

What types of volunteer positions are available at OBCC?

Whether you are busy and can only volunteer once a month or if you can volunteer on a regular basis, we offer brief and longer-term opportunities that allow you to reinvest in the community through volunteering with our team.
