Meet Your Team
Seattle Children's Infusion Services features nurses who are certified by the Association of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurses (APHON). We provide infusion services for children with hematology (blood) disorders, cancer requiring chemotherapy and/or other medical issues requiring infusions of special medications.
We work closely to meet the unique emotional, developmental and cultural needs of your child and family. Child Life therapists are also on-site for the Infusion Clinic. They work directly with you and your child to help you relieve tension, express concerns and fears, and feel more in control about your infusion clinic experience.
We also have on-site Advanced Practice Providers (APP) for patients undergoing infusions. There is one APP for the patients receiving infusions not related to cancer; and one for patients receiving infusions related to cancer and/or blood transfusions. The APP will respond to infusion related emergencies such as allergic or infusion reactions and foster communication between your child’s primary team and the Infusion Nurses. An APP is either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician’s Assistant.
