Family Advisory Council
Hearing from our patients and families is so important. It guides our work and helps us improve. It’s ultimately how we achieve our mission to help every child live the healthiest and most fulfilling life possible.
Join the Family Advisory Council and become part of a group of parents from our community who help us more effectively meet the needs of children and their families. Advisors provide feedback on proposed policy, program and organizational changes that affect families at Seattle Children's. Advisors also bring family concerns to the attention of hospital leadership and identify and work on specific projects to support families.
What qualifications and commitment does it take to be on the Family Advisory Council?
Members of the council have a wide variety of healthcare experiences and represent the diverse families served by our organization. Members typically serve 2-year terms, with a 2-term maximum. Council meetings are currently held the second Tuesday evening of the month, September through June.
How can I learn more and join the council?
If you are interested, or even just curious, we’d love to hear from you. Our team can share more about the council and hear your particular interests. We can also connect you to other opportunities to participate through the Families as Advisors program.
