Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic Documentary Screening

If you knew there was a vaccine that could prevent several types of cancer – including one that kills 6,000 people in the U.S. and 250,000 people worldwide each year – would you get it for your child? The HPV vaccine prevents infections from the human papillomavirus (HPV) that causes cervical and other forms of cancer. An estimated 79 million Americans are infected with HPV, and most females and males will become infected with at least one type of HPV in their lifetime. But low HPV vaccination rates are leaving both boys and girls at risk. Less than half of adolescent girls and only 13% of adolescent boys in Washington state have received the needed doses. Please join Seattle–King County Public Health, Group Health and Seattle Children's Hospital for this no-cost screening of the moving documentary Someone You Love: The HPV Epidemic.
