The Wilsing's Story

Tell us your story.

As a child growing up in Seattle Ruth Wilsing's fondest memories were of her parents, Alvin and Mazie Pelton, and the summers they spent at their cabin on Lake Sammamish. It was during those summers that Ruth first nurtured her love of fishing, a love she continued to share with her husband Wes Wilsing during vacations to their family cabin on Lake Cushman.

Ruth graduated summa cum laude with special honors from the University of Washington, and she utilized her talents as an investor and as a homemaker in Mercer Island. As a Professor at the University of Washington Business School, Wes dedicated his professional life to teaching and writing.

Ruth was a dedicated volunteer to Children's Hospital through 45 years of membership in the Dr. W. C. Lippincott Guild.

What does Children's mean to you, your child and your family?

The Wilsings left a lasting legacy to the hospital and children of the Pacific Northwest through their estate plan. The hospital benefited from Wes and Ruth's charitable remainder unitrust and also received a generous bequest from their estate.
