Wayfinding zones

The doors will soon open on our new Cancer, Critical and Emergency Care Expansion. It’s a great milestone for Seattle Children’s – but it substantially changes our hospital footprint. We’re taking this opportunity to introduce a clear and simple directional system to help families and staff navigate the campus.

We’re replacing the current six-zone system with four themed zones – Forest, River, Mountain and Ocean. The new signage is colorful, family-friendly and easy to use. In keeping with our “lean” practices, it will save countless hours by allowing doctors, nurses, staff and visitors to move more efficiently throughout our buildings.
