Research Staff Development Committee (RSDC)
The RSDC is charged with
- Participating in the development of a staff recruitment and retention strategy
- Supporting a culture of research staff as partners in the leadership of the research enterprise
- Stimulating discussion and initiative on matters of interest and concern to research staff
- Providing opportunities for networking
- Sharing information about best practices, challenges, opportunities, etc., toward continuous improvement and overall enterprise effectiveness
- Supporting effective communication with the research enterprise
- Building a sense of community and collegial support and recognition
- Helping to develop and sustain a healthy and productive work and learning environment
Further, the RSDC shall support skills training and development through
- Provision of internal courses and training events
- Partial fee support for training leading to recognized and appropriate qualifications, where recommended and supported by the appropriate faculty member or administrative manager
- Full fee support for travel to professional meetings to present a poster or workshop as the principal author
- Access to information and resources held locally or through national networks
