Seattle Children’s designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 9.25 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This activity meets the criteria for up to 9.25 hours of Category I CME credit to satisfy the relicensure requirements of the Washington State Medical Quality Assurance Commission.

Course Objectives

  1. Evaluate the relevant factors in deciding whether a child should be a candidate for a solid organ transplant.
  2. Identify the conditions under which a parent may refuse a surgical procedure on behalf of a child.
  3. List the required elements of informed parental permission for a surgical procedure involving a child.
