Seminar Series
The CCTR seminar series brings together experts for lectures and interactive discussions on clinical and translational research concepts, methods and tools. These seminars occur quarterly and are geared toward engaging research faculty and staff at all levels.
Quarterly Member Meetings
Quarterly member meetings offer CCTR members a chance to meet together to discuss current clinical and translational research issues. During each meeting, CCTR leadership informs members about significant changes that have been made within the Center and/or Seattle Children’s Research Institute. New services and programs offered through the Center are also discussed. CCTR research groups are often invited to present about current and upcoming research within their departments.
CCTR Committees
CCTR members participate in various committees to promote the goals of the center. See a list (PDF) of current CCTR committee members and committee contact information.
Steering Committee
The CCTR Steering Committee, led by Center Director Dr. Bonnie Ramsey, provides guidance and overall strategic direction for the center. The committee meets monthly to establish priorities for center activities, determine funding allocation and lead new initiatives to improve clinical and translational research at Seattle Children’s.
Education/Communication Committee
The Education/Communication Committee, led by Dr. Cate Pihoker, facilitates communications and fosters community building within the CCTR. The committee focuses on information sharing through a quarterly member newsletter and organizes educational programs such as the CCTR Seminar Series.
Faculty Recruitment Subcommittee
The Faculty Recruitment Committee is a subset of the CCTR Steering Committee made up of division chiefs whose main responsibilities are to establish recruitment policies, determine annual funding allocation and potential recruitment slots, review applications and interview potential faculty candidates, make recommendations regarding faculty recruits and provide an annual report on recruitment status.
Pediatric Pilot Funds Review Committee
The Pediatric Pilot Funds Review Committee, led by Dr. Jan Englund, is a panel of experienced funded investigators from various divisions with expertise in evaluating research applications. This committee reviews and scores annual submissions to the CCTR Pediatric Pilot Funds.
