My research focuses on studying how inflammation and autoimmunity affect insulin secretion in patients with type 1 diabetes. To that end, I am conducting both bench and clinical experiments that investigate the affects of cytokines and cell signalling proteins. In addition, I am an investigator on many multi-center interventional studies that seek to use new methods of immune modulation to preserve insulin secretion in patients with type 1 diabetes.
