Viral infections in healthy and immunocompromised hosts
- Description of Research:
-
My research focuses on the epidemiology of infectious diseases in healthy and immunocompromised hosts. A particular focus areas include human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) infections in immunocompromised populations. I am currently the principal investigator of an NIH R01 to study HHV-6 reactivation in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients. I am also interested in better defining the epidemiology of healthcare-associated infections in pediatrics and determining effective intervention strategies in this population.
