Business Services assists parents and guardians with questions regarding accounts, payment policies and financial assistance programs.
We bill and collect on all insurance claims and patient accounts.
You are responsible to pay for all services provided by Children's. Your insurance company can tell you whether you need to get a second opinion or pre-authorization for your child's medical services.
Note: If your child has Medicaid, Healthy Options or Basic Health Plus, your services will be covered in full and you will not receive bills.
Approximately 15 days after your child's clinic appointment or hospital discharge, you will receive a statement from Children's summarizing the charges.
We will automatically bill your insurance company if you completed the following steps:
You will receive a bill for any balance remaining after insurance pays your claim. As a parent or guardian of a patient at Children's, you may receive two or three separate bills in the mail.

Charges for some clinic, lab, x-ray, room charges (when your child requires a hospital stay), surgery, nurse practitioner and other services are billed by Business Services.
These charges are billed to Children's University Medical Group (CUMG). If you have questions about a CUMG bill, please call (206) 987-8455 or (888) 675-2864 (toll free), 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
A few doctors who perform procedures and surgeries at Children's bill separately. If your child is seen by one of these doctors, you will receive a separate bill from him or her.
