Laboratory Medicine / Pathology
Overview
We integrate laboratory medicine and pathology into pediatric care, serving
Children's Hospital and the community.
Our key functions are to provide:
- A complete test menu for our population
- Efficient transfusion services and consultation with the Puget Sound
Blood Center
- Consultation for use and interpretation of laboratory tests
- Continuing education to students, physicians and hospital staff
- Laboratory services to pediatric patients, hospital employees and
regional clients
- Laboratory statistics to the medical, administrative and interdepartmental
teams
- Quality test results in a time frame to support treatment
Our team responds to information needs regarding any aspect of clinical
laboratory science. We participate in clinical research in order to further knowledge of
pediatric disease and treatment.
