Clinical Information Services
Overview
The Clinical Systems group implements and supports the computer applications that enhance and promote patient care delivery at Children's Hospital.
The primary application, the Clinical Information System (CIS), provides online access to various components of patient medical records. Currently the CIS includes clinical results and physician order entry. The Clinical Systems group also looks after applications that support radiology and laboratory departments.

Our services include:
- Managing and updating the CIS and associated applications
- Implementing new products for specific users and/or departments
- Educating staff about CIS changes/upgrades
Children's Hospital is among the first pediatric facilities in the country to successfully implement computerized physician order entry, a critical step towards creating a system of fully electronic patient records.
