"I was the fix-it man at home growing up. I loved to take apart (and put back together) every old device I could – clocks, radios, engines, and put together models, kits, blocks, and erector sets. If there was anything broken or malfunctioning, mom or dad expected me to fix it. I found pediatric spinal deformity to be the ultimate clinical application of technological advancement in orthopedic surgery. Particularly because of the critical and sensitive spinal cord laying within!! Many of the procedures used routinely today for, pediatric spine problems, were not even considered possible 25 years ago, when I was in medical school or residency. I guess one might think of it as being able to use the ultimate erector set to rebuild children’s spinal columns around the spinal cord. WOW! I couldn’t have imagined when I started medical school being able to do the things I do now on a daily basis. On top of that - I just love taking care of children."

I was suffering from severe spondylolysthesis. Dr. Krengel took the time to explain the problem, and the options available to me, and was genuinely concerned for my well being, and if not for his work, I wouldn't be walking today. Dr. Krengel is a great surgeon and recommend him highly.

My daughter had a 4 level spinal fusion for scoliosis in Dec of last year. She had it done at Seattle Childrens Hospital by Dr. Krengel. She has had abolutely no issues at all. I would highly recommend Dr. Krengel. He did an amazing job. She is a dancer and gymnist and is already back to dancing and doing cartwheels and roundoffs, 6 months post surgery. He is a very humble and caring Physician with years of experience and was recommended to me by other Physicians. If you have a child with a spinal issue there is no one better!

My daughter recently found out that she had a broken neck. Dr Krengel was very thorough and decided that she needed surgery as soon as possible. He was pleasant and well informed about the whole process. I have never had a doctor call me to check on my child before and afterwards Dr. Krengel did his normal rounds but when we went home after surgery He and his staff called several times to see how my daughter was doing. I would recommend him fully if you have a problem with the spine.
