Children's Title: Co-Director, Clinical Research

Research Center: Center for Clinical and Translational Research

Sarah Ringold, MD, MS, is an attending physician at Seattle Children's Hospital and an Acting Assistant Professor at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed both her residency in pediatrics and her fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at Seattle Children's Hospital.

During her fellowship training she received her MS in Epidemiology from the University of Washington. Dr. Ringold cares for children with chronic inflammatory diseases and teaches residents and students in the Rheumatology Clinic and on the inpatient service at Seattle Children's Hospital. Her primary research interests are in the measurement of disease activity in juvenile idiopathic arthritis (in JIA) and in the relationships between parent- and patient-reported health-related quality of life and disease activity in JIA. In addition, Dr. Ringold serves as the site-PI for the Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance (CARRA) at Seattle Children's Hospital and, most recently, has begun developing projects that will assess the cost-effectiveness of new therapies in JIA.
