Dr. Permut performed my son's surgery 15 years ago! He explained everything to my husband and I before the surgery and was there for us the whole time. After the surgery (transposition of the great arteries) of my one-week old son at the time, Dr. Permut stayed by his side all night long until he knew my son would be alright. It is because of Dr. Permut that we now have our healthy, beautiful 15 year old, 10th grader! Dr. Permut is always in our prayers and in our thoughts.

Dr Permut was exactly what my wife and I needed for our beautiful 14 day old daughter. After talking with him for 2 hours about our daughter's heart condition and what procedure would need to be done, we were at ease...as at ease as a couple can be when their daughter is about to have open heart surgery! We are currently still at the hospital after a successfull surgery on our little girls heart. Dr Permut has been by no less than 4 times post op to check in. He is an amazing surgeon and my daughter is thriving thanks to him. Have no fear anyone reading this, he is the best!

Dr Permut is a knowledgeable, fabulous and a sensitive surgeon. He operated on our 10 day old son that had a major heart defect. He spent the time to explain everything to us and what was going to happen during the procedure. His dedication and encouragement were amazing. Our son is alive today because of Lester Permut. Thank you for everything you have done. Everyone tells us that his scar looks great and it has healed up beautifully.

Dr. Permut did an amazing job repairing our son's TOF and was caring, patient, and kind throughout the process. I remember one of the nurses saying that he was one of the most genuinely caring surgeons she had run across, and I think that says a lot. Our son's boundless energy and beautifully fading scar say a lot for his technical capability as well. We just celebrated his first birthday a few weeks ago and he is 5 months post-op.

10 years ago our 15 year old son was diagnosed with an atrial septal defect and two veins leading to the wrong side of the heart. We were devastated. Dr. Permut explained the procedure to us. When I was about to faint, he said, "I have never lost a patient." That was just what I needed to hear, but was too scared to ask. Our son was out of the hospital in three days. The next year he played high school football. He is a healthy 25 year old college graduate. I never pass the Westchester County Medical Center without saying a prayer of gratitude for Dr. Lester Permut (even though I know that Seattle is now so lucky to have him). Thank you Dr. Permut for our son.

Dr. Permut was absolutley amazing! When first hearing that my son had to have open heart surgery I was scared and had lots of questions. But when I met Dr. Permut, he explained the procedure, risks, and outcomes and anything else in between. I understood everything and his drawings further helped me feel confident that he was going to help my son. By the end of his explanations me and my family had already had all of our questions answered with his explanations. He is amazing, and I'm glad my son had such a great surgeon.

What is there to say? Dr. Permut saved our daughter's life, along with the skilled team at Children's Hospital. She was brought into his care in April of 2006, he was very easy to understand and didn't mind telling us over and over again what he would be doing. Our little girl has to have another open heart surgery and once again we find ourselves with Dr. Perumt. I am conifent he will once again perform magic to repair her little heart. Thank you Children's for having such a skilled surgeon on your team, God has certainly blessed him with wonderful skills.

D. Permut saved our son's life. Our son was sent to Seattle Children's around 48 hours with severe heart defects, at 7 days old we trusted Dr. Permut and his team to bring him back to us. He is such a knowledgeable Dr with tons of patience He did his best to explain the complex problems and corrections to our sons heart in a way that we could understand and didn't mind explaining it all 100 times if needed. Our son is now almost a year and that is all thanks to Dr. Permut! You couldn't pick a better surgeon Thank you Dr Permut and Seattle Children's for having him there.
