Mr. Foulsham completed his Physician Assistant (PA) training through the University of Washington (UW) School of Medicine/MEDEX NW Physician Assistant Program, and he simultaneously completed his Bachelor of Clinical Health Services (BCHS) degree at UW during his PA training. He is board-certified by the National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) as evidenced by the “C” designation in his PA credential. Within the UW School of Medicine, Mr. Foulsham also holds a clinical faculty appointment of Teaching Associate, and he assists with training resident physicians, PA students, and medical students at SCH. Mr. Foulsham began his PA career specializing in adult hand/upper extremity injuries and medical conditions before coming to SCH in late 2004. Mr. Foulsham is a Fellow member of both the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Washington Academy of Physician Assistants. His specialty interests include pediatric orthopedic trauma, idiopathic scoliosis, first assisting in pediatric orthopedic surgery, and furthering efforts to establish the PA profession in underdeveloped countries to allow for greater access to quality health care. Prior to becoming a PA, Mr. Foulsham was a nationally registered paramedic (NREMT-P) with many years of prehospital experience in emergency medicine and wilderness search and rescue. In 1991, Mr. Foulsham was featured in an episode of the popular television series Rescue 911 for his efforts as a paramedic in saving the life of a young man who was critically injured and severely burned in a very rural motor vehicle accident.
