Harvey K. Chiu, MD is an attending physician at Seattle Children’s Hospital and assistant professor of pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. After completing a dual endocrinology fellowship at the University of Washington, he became double board certified in both adult and pediatric endocrinology and is especially able to appreciate the lifelong impact of hormone disorders and the importance of appropriate early treatment for a lifetime of implications.
As such, he is especially appreciative of the approach of thyroid nodule biopsy under ultrasound guidance, dyslipidemia, type 2 diabetes mellitus, and precocious puberty. He is directly involved in the didactic and clinical teaching of medical students and resident physicians as well as regional speaking to primary care physicians through the WWAMI outreach. In addition to seeing general endocrinology and diabetes patients at Seattle Children’s Hospital, he attends regional clinics in Federal Way and Yakima.
