Francine M. Baran, MD, is attending physician at Seattle Children’s Hospital and assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She received her MD at MCP Hahnemann School of Medicine, Philadelphia.
She completed fellowship training in pediatric ophthalmology at Children’s Hospital National Medical Center, Washington, D.C. She specializes in pediatric ophthalmology and adult strabismus. Her interests include resident teaching and the mechanisms behind the development of myopia. She is a principal investigator in the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group, which is supported by the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Baran is an active member in several local and national medical associations.
