"With continuous innovations in allocation policy, donor awareness, organ preservation, surgical technique and medical care, we now fully expect all the infants and children that we list for liver transplantation to get to transplant and to recover rapidly from the operation, and to grow up to adulthood and have families of their own. The fact that this does not happen in 100% of patients — even though we are getting closer every year — drives me onward. The honor of caring for the children who have driven the growth of the medical specialty of liver transplantation, from its infancy to its current sophistication, continues to excite and inspire me."

Dr. Horslen has been involved with our son's Biliary Atresia since birth. He has always been encouraging to me as his parent, always telling me that my insight to my son has always been constructive, crucial and effectual in his care. This ment so much to me as Caleb's health had been declining to a life threatening state for over a year. What I appritiate about Dr. Horslen the most is that he always encouraged me to study and know my son's conditions, labs, procedures, etc. He was and is always willing to teach me as much as I would like to know. This ability to connect with me as a parent on a heart to heart level, discerning not only my son but myself as well has given me great comfort in times of great emotion. My son recieved his liver transplant at the age of 15 mos. I would and will continue to recomend Dr. Simon Horslen to anyone who is in need of his services.

When I was fourteen, I developed autoimmune hepatitis. My family doctor was unable to successfully diagnose my condition. Eventually I was recommended to see a specialist, who ending up being Dr. Horslen. Within minutes of meeting, Dr. Horslen made the correct diagnosis, which was confirmed by the biopsy. He immediately began treating me. Due to Dr. Horslen's insight, my liver was saved before it was too late. I am now 22, and my autoimmune hepatitis has been in remission for years thanks in part to Dr. Horslen's guidance. Not only did Dr. Horslen make the correct diagnosis, allowing for me to live this past decade relatively healthy, but he did so with great care. He was never forceful, respected my opinions, and was always realistic and honest. I am very grateful to have been under the care of Dr. Horslen. Any family would be lucky to have him treat their child.

Dr. Horslen took care of my son Freddie Dean. My son is now living a normal life in the Bahamas . Thanks to Dr. Horslen and his caring team. I highly recommend Dr. Horslen to any child suffering from a GI or liver disease.
