Children's Title: Co-Director, Medical Student Education

Academic Title: Professor, Pediatrics

"One of the things enjoy most about is seeing children we treat get better. It is wonderful to see children, who couldn't even walk because the infection in their bones was so painful, run, jump and play in clinic. Even the most suspicious toddler will give me a smile! Giving the good news that the infection is gone and the antibiotic can stop is always a highlight! Having time to talk to parents and children about their illnesses is a highlight of my day. I also feel fortunate to be able to teach and learn from my students and patients every day I work at Seattle Children's."

Sherilyn Smith, MD: Professor of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. Dr. Smith's interests are in medical education, teaching and curriculum development. She is the co-director of the medical student pediatric education programs at Seattle Children's Hospital and the University of Washington.
