Peggy Schlesinger, MD, is an attending physician at Seattle Children's Hospital and clinical professor of medicine and pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine. She completed her internship in Cincinnati and residency at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle, WA.
She did a one year fellowship in pediatric rheumatology at the Seattle Children’s Hospital of the University of Washington, followed by a two year fellowship in rheumatology and immunology at the University of California at San Francisco Hospitals in San Francisco, CA. In the Pediatric Rheumatology Clinic at Seattle Children's Hospital, Dr. Schlesinger cares for children with chronic inflammatory diseases and teaches residents and students. Her research interests have included Raynaud’s phenomenon, and the role of the HLA system in development of rheumatoid arthritis. Dr. Schlesinger is involved in piloting new curricula designed to foster interprofessional team approach to patient care, and improve professionalism among medical students.
