Dr. Kawamura received her Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington, where her research focused on child and family coping and psychosocial adjustment in the context of pediatric cancer and brain tumors. She completed her clinical psychology internship at the UCLA Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior. She subsequently completed her postdoctoral fellowship at the Stanford University School of Medicine, where she received comprehensive training in pediatric psychology, specializing in working with families of children receiving solid organ transplants and delivering evidence-based interventions for medically-ill youth. Dr. Kawamura specializes in providing assessment, consultation, and treatment for children and adolescents with co-occurring acute and chronic medical illnesses.
