Jon is originally from the San Francisco, CA area but has lived both in Chicago IL and Washington D.C. He completed his MD and MPH at George Washington University, pediatrics residency training at Northwestern University and pediatric pulmonary fellowship at Seattle Childrens.
Jon is excited to be a member of a multidisciplinary team that cares for children with chronic and complex respiratory conditions across the WWAMI region. He is also committed to medical education and the training of pediatric residents as the next generation of physicians to care for children with medical needs.
In addition to his clinic duties, Jons research interests focus on the use of antibiotics in pediatric respiratory health, with a particular emphasis on antibiotic stewardship and antimicrobial utilization for the treatment of cystic fibrosis-related pulmonary exacerbations. Jon is currently working on comparative effectiveness studies centered on cystic fibrosis pulmonary exacerbation management to help inform future treatment strategies and to improve the well-being of children and adults with cystic fibrosis.

We have received excellent care from Dr. Cogen. He started the appointment by introducing himself to my son and chatting with him about his summer. He was completely thorough in his handling of our case. He spent at least half an hour talking with me (mom) about the tests we had done, the prognosis and the treatments. Excellent, excellent care. On par with all of my interactions with doctors at Seattle Children's.
