"I am driven by seeing the courage and spirit that children with chronic lung diseases possess. It’s great to work with patients and families to find the best therapies to control their lung disease so they can lead a full life. One of the most memorable moments occurs when a patient with cystic fibrosis is ready to head off to college. At that moment, I feel I’ve made a difference by helping them keep their lungs healthy so they could reach that milestone. Making a difference in a patient’s life is also achieved through teaching future pediatricians and future pediatric specialists — something I am passionate about and strive to do."
