Williams assumes role after serving as chief operating officer at Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health since 2013
Seattle Children’s has appointed Russ Williams as senior vice president and chief administrative officer. Williams, who previously served as the chief operating officer of Riley Hospital for Children at Indiana University Health, will oversee key system operations areas, including Marketing and Communications, Facilities and Research Service Line Operations.
Williams served as the chief operating officer of Riley since July 2013. In that role, he led major facilities expansions, facilitated planning and development of key service lines, and maintained complex systems that supported patient, family and clinical operations across the institution.
“I had the pleasure of working with Russ at Riley and can attest to his mission-focused leadership, strong strategic skills, compassion for his colleagues and commitment to improving children’s health,” said Dr. Jeff Sperring, chief executive officer of Seattle Children’s. “He brings an incredible depth of leadership experience, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our team.”
Prior to his role at Riley, Williams served as vice president of operations at Fairview Southdale Hospital, and vice president of patient experience at University of Minnesota Medical Center and Amplatz Children’s Hospital.
Williams earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology and business administration from Brigham Young University in Utah and his master’s in healthcare administration from the University of Minnesota.
“I am deeply honored to join one of the top children’s hospitals in the country,” said Williams. “I look forward to leading key system operations across the institution that support providers, researchers and the incredible patients and families that we serve.”
