Jeff Brown Appointed Senior Vice President, CIO of Seattle Children's Hospital

Brown assumes role after serving as interim CIO since April 2015

Seattle Children’s announced today that Jeff Brown has been appointed to the position of senior vice president and chief information officer of Seattle Children’s effective Feb. 1. Brown has filled the CIO role at Seattle Children’s on an interim basis since April 2015.

“We are thrilled Jeff has assumed the permanent role of CIO,” said Lisa Brandenburg, president of Seattle Children’s Hospital. “Jeff brings tremendous experience, and during his time as interim CIO, he has made key improvements within our Information Services (IS) Department, and will be integral in supporting our next strategic plan with the technical elements necessary to excel in an increasingly competitive healthcare market.”

In April 2015, Brown joined Seattle Children’s from Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, Mass., where he served as CIO. In that role, Brown focused on mobilizing healthcare information electronically across an integrated healthcare system, accountable care organization (ACO) design, as well as population health and organization-wide digital healthcare strategies. Brown has an extensive background in the healthcare field, also previously holding senior management positions at organizations including Partners Healthcare and Steward Health Care Network.

“I am deeply honored and excited to be a part of such an inspiring, world-class institution,” Brown said. “I truly look forward to leading our talented IS Department in developing new, innovative models to further support our providers, researchers and the incredible patients and families that we serve.”
