A young Seattle girl born with a malformation of her jaw is helping experts at Seattle Children's Hospital pinpoint what causes the rare genetic disorder. Dr. Michael Cunningham, medical director of the hospital’s Craniofacial Center, studied Lexi's genes and pinpointed two malfunctioning genes that led to her jaw disorder.
