Seattle Children’s Is a Worthy Cause

Seattle Children’s is an especially worthy recipient of support. One of the nation’s top children’s hospitals, it’s also an important research institute and provider of specialized care across the Northwest. Children’s is reaching kids at a growing network of sites. One standout is the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic, which provides medical, dental, nutritional and mental-health services in central Seattle. Supporting the “It Starts with Yes” campaign will help Children’s expand the clinic into a larger facility with a new emphasis on addressing root causes of illness. Children’s is also opening a stand-alone clinic in Everett this year, joining clinics it operates in places such as Bellevue, Federal Way and Wenatchee, and specialty centers such as a pediatric heart center in Anchorage. Seattle Children’s is also a key player in the regional cluster of health-care research and innovation. Its growing research institute has already pioneered breakthrough technologies, including cystic-fibrosis treatments and cancer therapies.
