New Seattle Children's Clinic Offering Heart Treatment
Just after Christmas, Kristyn Mayernik’s daughter, Lillian, contracted a respiratory virus that attacked her heart. After a Mercy Flight trip to Seattle, Lillian began treatment at Seattle Children's. At the new Seattle Children’s Pediatric Cardiology of Montana, Mayernik has seen how smoothly records are drawn on by doctors in Seattle or Great Falls. The new Great Falls clinic "means a lot to us," Mayernik said. "One thing that will be nice is the continuity of care." The clinic is Seattle Children's first regional heart center in Montana. "We're busy and we haven't plateaued. It keeps growing every year, and with Seattle Children's resources it will help meet the medical needs,” said Dr. Dennis Ruggerie, a pediatric cardiologist at the new clinic.
