(Inhaler)

Un inhalador es un dispositivo capaz de dosificar medicamentos para el asma directamente a los pulmones. El medicamento viene en forma de vaporización, aerosol o polvo y la persona lo respira (inhala). Dentro de los pulmones, este medicamento puede comenzar a actuar, abriendo las vías aéreas que están más estrechas. Cuando estos conductos se abren y despejan, la persona logra respirar más fácilmente, sin tanta tos ni sibilancia. Es necesario tener un poco de práctica para usar un inhalador, pero muchos niños se vuelven expertos. Las cámaras de inhalación facilitan el uso de los inhaladores.
