Medidor de flujo máximo

(In English: Peak Flow Meter)

Un medidor de flujo máximo te indica cómo están funcionando tus pulmones. Es muy útil para una persona con asma, ya que puede indicar si las vías aéreas están congestionadas, incluso antes de que la persona comience a toser, tenga una sibilancia o presente dificultad para respirar. Para utilizarlo, el paciente sopla en el dispositivo y después verifica cuánto marca el medidor. El medidor de flujo máximo es un dispositivo portátil que no necesita enchufarse ni debe ser administrado por un médico o enfermera. Mucha gente lo usa en su hogar para saber si está controlando bien el asma.
