Un microscopio es una lupa muy poderosa. El mundo entero (incluido nuestro cuerpo) se compone de miles de millones de diminutas cosas vivientes, tan pequeñas que no puedes verlas sólo con los ojos. Sin embargo, con un microscopio es posible analizar las células del cuerpo o incluso una gota de sangre. Usando un microscopio para ver este tipo de cosas de cerca, un médico es capaz de distinguir células de cáncer, bacterias y otros factores problemáticos que podrían ser los causantes de las enfermedades que padecen las personas.
