Yogurt Parfait

Note: This recipe is especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women, but it can be a nutritious part of almost anyone's diet. Pregnant and breastfeeding women need to consume extra calories and eat a variety of nutritious foods to contribute to their baby's growth and development.

Prep time: 5 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. low-fat vanilla yogurt
  • 1/3 c. bran cereal
  • 3/4 c. sliced peaches

Directions:

  1. In a large glass, layer half of the yogurt, half of the bran cereal, and half of the fruit. Repeat the layers.

Serves: 1

Serving size: 1 parfait

Why this recipe is good for pregnant or breastfeeding women:

This recipe is a quick and easy snack for the busy mom. The bran cereal contains fiber, which can help with constipation, a common problem during pregnancy. The yogurt contains calcium and protein, which are important nutrients for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
