Tropical Smoothie

Note: This recipe is especially for pregnant and breastfeeding women, but it can be a nutritious part of almost anyone's diet. Most pregnant and breastfeeding women need to consume extra calories. Eat a variety of nutritious foods to get the vitamins and minerals that will support your baby's healthy growth and development.

Prep time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 c. frozen mango chunks
  • 1 c. nonfat vanilla yogurt
  • ½ c. skim milk
  • ½ c. pineapple-orange juice
  • 1-2 c. ice cubes

Directions:

  1. Combine all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.

Makes: 2 16-oz. servings

Serving size: 16 oz.

53 g carbohydrate
2 g fiber
5 mg cholesterol
167 mg sodium
666 mg calcium
1.5 mg iron
