Dr. Bryan King's clinical and research interests focus on psychiatric aspects of developmental disorders, and on severe behavioral disturbances, particularly in autism. He chairs a multi-site clinical trial by the National Institutes of Health examining an antidepressant medication in treatment of children with autism who have significant problems with repetitive behaviors — the largest study of its kind ever conducted. Dr. King has received lifetime achievement awards from the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and the American Psychiatric Association for his work in developmental and intellectual disabilities.

Dr. Jon McClellan joined Seattle Children's Hospital in 1990. Dr. McClellan is involved in two primary areas of research: the diagnosis, phenomenology and treatment of early-onset schizophrenia and bipolar disorder; and genomic approaches for gene discovery with complex neuropsychiatric disorders, including schizophrenia. He is involved with two NIH-funded, multi-center treatment trials, one for early-onset schizophrenia, the other for early-onset bipolar disorder. Dr. McClellan has been involved in the development of treatment guidelines for the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and authored the academy's practice parameters on early-onset schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
