We also are elevating our commitment to research because of the critical role it plays in improving treatment and finding ways to cure — and prevent — disease. Our physicians, nurses and staff are engaged in nearly 250 research projects.

World-Class Partners
Training new graduates, providing continuing medical education to providers throughout the region, and working to improve the way we practice medicine have motivated Children's to create affiliations with world-class partners.
The hospital is home to the University of Washington's Department of Pediatrics. Each physician wears two caps — one as a caring, skilled clinician and another as educator and investigator.
We team with Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and University of Washington School of Medicine to form the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, which offers patients the most current treatments for cancer while conducting research that improves these methods and unlocks cures.
Working With Local Providers
We take an active role in improving the health and well-being of children in our region.
Children's physicians also team with local providers throughout Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho to provide specialty outpatient care. Our clinics throughout the Puget Sound region enable patients to access specialty care closer to home.
Our telemedicine program allows patients in rural and underserved areas to receive realtime consultation with specialists in Seattle without the hardship of traveling far from home.
We take an active role in improving the health and well-being of children in our region. Our efforts reflect the unmet needs we see most often among the children and families we serve: access to health care; resources for children with chronic medical conditions; and child safety and healthy child development.
