
Today, it is likely that there is a child with food allergies in every classroom, day care and camp in the United States. More than two million children are now affected by food allergies. And the incidence of food allergies has doubled in the last 10 years. Until there is a cure, education about preventing and managing food allergies will make the difference in keeping children safe.
In partnership with the Food Allergy Initiative — Northwest (FAI), Seattle Children's is excited to introduce the new Food Allergy Community Outreach, which strives to prevent reactions to food allergies through education. Funded by the FAI, our program provides the community with a food allergy community health educator, who will provide training and educational presentations to staff, parents, and children in a variety of settings, including:
