Program Director

 Katie McGinn, MD

Program Overview

The Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at Seattle Children’s Hospital and the University of Washington is offering a fellowship in pediatric pain medicine. This fellowship offers 6 or 12 months focused on the assessment and treatment of acute and chronic pain in infants, children and adolescents.

The eligible candidate should have completed ACGME-approved residency in anesthesiology. During their training, the fellow will be an integral part of the Pain Medicine team at Children’s, where they will obtain skills in evaluation and management of both inpatient and outpatient acute, chronic and cancer pain amongst pediatric patients within an interdisciplinary setting. There are elective opportunities to obtain adult pain-management experience at the University of Washington Multidisciplinary Pain Center and Virginia Mason Medical Center, as well as complementary medicine therapies at both the Bastyr Center for Natural Health and Children’s that will enhance their training experience in pain medicine. Clinical and basic research opportunities are also available to the fellows during their training.
