Program Overview

In the Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship program, we emphasize not only clinical skills, but professional skills that help our fellows become respected leaders in their field. Since the program began in 1984, we've focused on producing clinicians with expertise in all aspects of pediatric anesthesiology. The first year is dedicated to building a base of knowledge with major clinical rotations including pediatric cardiac anesthesia, pediatric pain management, pediatric regional anesthesia, pediatric critical care, and anesthesia for pediatric neurosurgical procedures. First-year fellows also participate in programs to develop professional expertise including presentation skills, quality assessment and improvement and research evaluation. We emphasize exposure to research methodology during the first year; in year two, fellows may elect to focus on academic and research skills.
