Cardiology

The Division of Cardiology is part of Seattle Children’s Heart Center, a specialized team of pediatric cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, pediatric cardiac intensive care specialists, cardiac anesthesiologists, nurses, echocardiography technicians and caring staff.

We are a comprehensive cardiac care provider for the fetus to the adult, and our commitment to the best possible outcome for each patient includes ongoing research into new treatments and technologies. We have a reputation for excellence in services ranging from advanced therapeutic catheterization procedures for common cardiac defects and heart rhythm disorders to heart transplantation for infants with more complex cardiac problems. The Division of Cardiology is committed to achieving greater national recognition for leadership in innovation, collaboration and excellence. Our faculty’s intellectual curiosity and spirit of inquiry define our culture, and our research and clinical care partnerships provide models for our peers.

Program coordinator

It’s easy for our out-of-town patients to “fall through the cracks” when they go home after a surgery, procedure or inpatient stay. To make sure this doesn’t happen, we now schedule children and teens for follow-ups — visits with their referring cardiologist and/or pediatrician plus any needed tests — before they are discharged from the hospital. It’s one less task for parents to worry about and it ensures that kids receive the timely follow-up and continuity of care they need in their own communities.
