MEDCON

MEDCON is a toll-free telephone consultation service. It connects physicians from five Pacific Northwest states with the School of Medicine faculty at the University of Washington. The states include Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington.

MEDCON is a joint project of the University of Washington School of Medicine and the Washington State Medical Association. The School of Medicine, University of Washington Medical Center and Children's Hospital and Regional Medical Center provide support.

MEDCON ensures that the resources of the School of Medicine faculty are available to inquiring physicians in the five-state region. It puts community physicians in touch with the many special facilities at the UW-affiliated hospitals.

Seattle Children's provides health care for the special needs of children regardless of race, sex, creed, ethnicity or disability. Financial assistance for medically necessary services is based on family income and hospital resources and is provided to children under age 21 whose primary residence is Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho.
