What’s the best thing about working at Seattle Children’s?

The people — the children, the families, the staff. I am inspired every time I look into the face of a child.

Every day, I look forward to meeting new children and their families as well as seeing those I have already worked with. Providing nutrition care involves problem solving together. I enjoy this interaction and I learn as much from families as they learn from me.

The staff I work with — in the Craniofacial Center and in the entire hospital — also inspire me. I see people helping each other, a willingness to share knowledge, mutual respect and genuine care for patients and their families all around me.

What do you like most about the work you do in the Craniofacial Center?

I like providing nutrition care to children as part of the bigger picture of their total care. I like the team approach to care and the resources that are available. The expertise and experience of the rest of the team, as well as their respectful support, helps me do my job well.

What makes Children’s Craniofacial Center unique?

The care of an individual child is provided in a holistic manner. Children benefit from the wide array of disciplines represented on the team.

Each discipline provides care and works together to provide the best outcomes. Team members are experts in their fields. From my standpoint as a clinician, the center is also a great place to learn and grow in my own knowledge and expertise.

What made you want to come to Children’s?

I came for the opportunity to work in my discipline with children and families and to grow professionally. Of the different pediatric options I had to choose from, Children's by far provided the best opportunities to learn and grow.

What do people say when they find out you work here?

Responses are positive. Most recently, I have heard "Oh, did you know that Children’s was voted one of the top 10 places to work in Seattle?"
