Make the transition to pediatrics.
Bring your nursing experience, and we'll introduce you to the joys of working with infants, children and teens.
Personalized Orientation
We'll help you make the transition — because we value your experience. At Seattle Children's, you'll receive personalized orientation based on your background and needs, as well as ongoing support to help you succeed.
- Unit-based clinical nurse specialists and nurse educators will review the unit skills list with you and design an orientation plan specifically for you.
- An RN preceptor will work with you throughout orientation.
Optional Support Group

As an experienced adult-care nurse making the transition to pediatrics, you'll have the option of participating in a monthly support group during your first year of employment. The group is facilitated by the unit CNS, and the time is paid. The focus is both educational and social — designed to help you integrate into your new unit's nursing practice and form supportive working relationships with your fellow nurses.
