Viral Encephalitis Survivor

Viral Encephalitis Survivor

By robert redden

Tell us your story.

In the summer of 1979, I contracted Viral Encephalitis from childhood innoculations. I was unconcious in intensive care at childrens hospital at the age of 5, for 10 days. I was in the hospital for nearly a month learning how to do everything. I am very appreciative of the care I recieved while at childrens. I was very sick at the time.

What does Children's mean to you, your child and your family?

While I dont remember my time in the hospital I am sure that I would not be here today without childrens hospital. I dont think the words thankyou say anywhere near the gratification that I feel, however I want to say thank you very much to everyone who worked then and has worked since and still to help children in need of care.
