Lisa Hayward Appointed Senior Vice President, General Counsel for Seattle Children’s
Hayward replaces Jeff Sconyers, who retired earlier this year
Seattle Children’s announced today that Lisa Rediger Hayward has been appointed to the position of senior vice president and general counsel of Seattle Children’s effective Jan. 4, 2016. Hayward replaces Jeff Sconyers, who retired earlier this year.
“Lisa has been a great friend to Seattle Children’s for nearly 20 years, so when we were presented the opportunity to welcome her into our organization, we were thrilled,” said Jeff Sperring, chief executive officer of Seattle Children’s. “She understands our mission and brings a wealth of experience and health care industry knowledge, particularly as it relates to health reform. She is the exemplary advocate, counselor and teammate that we expect for our General Counsel and I am excited for her to join us.”
Hayward, 48, is currently a partner at Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP in Seattle, where she will remain until she transitions to Seattle Children’s. In that position, Hayward has worked closely with health systems, hospitals and multi-specialty medical groups on a wide range of regulatory and transactional matters. Some of her key accomplishments included assisting in the development of accountable care organizations as well as clinically integrated networks and advising health systems in Washington’s certificate of need process.
Hayward earned her Juris Doctorate with High Honors from the University of Washington School of Law in 1997. She also holds a Master of Health Administration from Indiana University and a Bachelor of Science in Health Science from Boston University. She was admitted into the Washington State Bar Association in 1997.
“I have always been impressed and inspired by the mission-driven focus and passion at Seattle Children’s,” said Hayward. “It is such a valuable community resource, doing incredible work to help patients and their families. I am grateful that I can now support the organization in an even closer way.”
