Seattle Children’s awarded $9.8 million to beat lung infections

In a clinical trial spanning 45 sites across the country, researchers at Seattle Children’s will tackle one of the hard-to-beat complications that strikes the lungs of cystic fibrosis patients and others. The culprit is a bacterium that once it gets started growing in damaged lungs of CF patients, or others with severe burns or immunodeficiencies, it keeps coming back and causing trouble.
