National Cancer Institute statistics show that in the U.S. the combined overall five-year cancer survival rate for children under the age of 19 has increased from 62 percent in the mid-1970s to 84 percent today. Seattle Children’s Hospital participated in a Twitter chat about conquering childhood cancer and was featured in ABC Health’s live blog.
